A DANGEROUS paedophile ?wanted in Spain for trying to ?abduct a young girl has fled to Morocco.
The search for Robert Bill has switched to the North African country after he vanished from his Costa del Sol bolthole.
As revealed in last week?s Sunday Mirror, officials in Spain issued an arrest warrant for Bill after the attempted abduction of a 12-year-old girl in Velez-Malaga last month.
It has now been upgraded to an international arrest warrant after police received new information about his whereabouts.
Spanish investigators are said to have traced an email Bill sent to his boss this week to ?a ?computer in ?Morocco. He worked for an ?estate agency in Torrox Park, near the Costa del Sol resort of Nerja.
Police are believed to have CCTV ?footage showing the girl narrowly escaping being kidnapped in a ?Peugeot 106 car owned by Bill.
Expat John Laverack, a regular at El Pino restaurant where Bill used to drink, said the fugitive told him he was planning to go back to the UK for medical treatment.
He said: ?It was just after the attempted abduction of the youngster, although we didn?t know anything about it at the time.?
Ex-teacher Bill, 58, from St Asaph, North Wales, who is on the sex offenders register, moved to Spain after serving a jail term for ?attempted abduction of a girl aged five, indecent assault and having indecent ?images of children.
A North Wales Police source said: ?Police in the UK make regular unannounced visits to sex offenders to make sure they are living where they say they are. We can?t oblige foreign police forces to do the same. It does seem to us a loophole in the law.?
